Institutional review boards (IRBs) are facing large and small scope ethical challenges at Plymouth State University as we increasingly engage in Cluster Pedagogy.  This 45-minute session will review common ethical issues emerging in classroom-based projects, federal human subjects protections regulations (45 CFR 46), discuss issues related to active and passive parental informed consent in New Hampshire, maintenance of confidentiality in a digital age, and conflict of interest as it relates to a cluster-based learning environment.  In addition to the aforementioned important IRB issues, attendees will review several classroom activities that prepare students for future project-based learning endeavors, while not reaching the level of IRB review.
